Fall Morning Roll-Ups

Top of the morning to ya! The air is cold, your coffee is hot, and you are hungry! Fall Morning Roll-Ups are the yummy treat you need to celebrate the season and fill you up. You thought Hawaiian bread was delicious… well, just wait until you try it the autumn way! The sweet, fluffy bread gets smothered with some rich, nectarous honey pecan cream cheese and a dollop of smooth pumpkin pie filling. Coated in a pumpkin spice egg wash (to ensure you get a drop of fall in every bite), cooked to a beautiful golden brown, and covered in a cinnamon sugar mix for extra delight, your tastebuds will be quite pleased! Ingredients

  • 8 slices Hawaiian or plain bread, crust removed
  • 1 (7.5-ounce) container honey pecan cream cheese spread
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin pie filling or pumpkin butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

Step 1 –Flatten each of the bread slices with a rolling pin.

Step 2 –Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese on each side of the bread slices.

Step 3 –Spread about 1 tablespoon of the pumpkin pie filling on the left side of each of the bread slices, about 1-inch-wide across the width of the bread.

Step 4 –Starting at the end where the pumpkin pie filling is, roll each of the bread slices up tightly.

Step 5 –In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs, the milk, the vanilla, and the pumpkin pie spice until well-combined.

Step 6 –In a separate shallow bowl, mix the sugar and the cinnamon.

Step 7 –In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter.

Step 8 –Dip each of the bread rolls into the egg mixture, coating well, and place in the pan seam-side down.

Step 9 –Cook in batches, letting one side cook and then turning as needed, until all sides are cooked and golden brown. Add the remaining butter to the pan for each batch.

Step 10 –Transfer the rolls from the skillet and immediately roll each of them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Step 11 –Serve warm.
