Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
- 2 pounds ground chuck
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup burger sauce
- 1/4 cup dill relish or 1/4 cup pickles, diced
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
- 1 (32-ounce) bag tater tots
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
Step 3 –In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil.
Step 4 –Add the onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
Step 5 –Add the ground chuck and cook, while crumbling, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the fat from the pan.
Step 6 –Season the beef with the onion powder, the garlic powder, the salt, and the black pepper.
Step 7 –Add the burger sauce and the dill relish and mix to combine.
Step 8 –Add 1/4 cup of the cheese and mix to combine.
Step 9 –Pour the beef mixture into the prepared casserole dish.
Step 10 –Top with the remaining cheese and then the tater tots in a single layer.
Step 11 –Bake until the tater tots are golden-brown, about 40-45 minutes.
Step 12 –Let the bake cool for 5 minutes.
Step 13 –Serve.
