March Madness Meatballs

Let’s get ready to rumble! Your brackets are filled out, your guests are hungry, and you’re about to be the MVP of this crazy college basketball season thanks to March Madness Meatballs! These little balls of beefy glory are loaded with herby flavors and smothered in a tangy and sweet barbeque sauce that will help you bring home the “W” without a doubt. No need to play defense when it comes to snacks this season (although, it does win championships in the real game) because March Madness Meatballs will bring you slam dunk after slam dunk!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds 85% ground beef
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup dried onion flakes or onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons dried steak seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 (16-ounce) bottle barbeque sauce, divided
  • 1 large egg, beaten

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3 –In a large bowl, combine the beef, the breadcrumbs, the cheese, the onion flakes, the steak seasoning, the garlic powder, the Italian seasoning, 2 tablespoons of the barbeque sauce, and the egg.

Step 4 –Scoop the beef mixture using a melon-scooper or a spoon and then roll the scoops with your hands into balls with a 1-inch diameter.

Step 5 –Place the meatballs onto the prepared baking sheet and bake until a thermometer inserted into the center of them reads at least 135 degrees F, about 15 minutes.

Step 6 –Transfer the meatballs to a crockpot or a cast iron skillet.

Step 7 –Cover the meatballs with the remaining barbeque sauce.

Step 8 –Simmer the meatballs on low heat until ready to serve.

Step 9 –Serve the meatballs with toothpicks.
