Marvelous Chicken Marsala

Marvelous Chicken Marsala is just the best! Tender, succulent, golden chicken in a creamy, savory sauce? How can you say no to that? Well, you don’t have to! You don’t want to miss a single bite of this Marvelous Chicken Marsala, with the delightful notes of bright wine and beefy mushrooms mixed right in! Plus, it’s ready in just half an hour, which is amazing for a dish that could have come out of a professional kitchen!

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 (10-ounce) package sliced cremini mushrooms
  • 1 large shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Marsala wine
  • parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –Pound the chicken breasts to about a 1/2-inch thickness.

Step 2 –Season the chicken breasts with the salt and the pepper.

Step 3 –Lightly coat the chicken breasts with the flour.

Step 4 –In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of the oil.

Step 5 –Add the chicken breasts to the hot oil and cook until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F and are golden-brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.

Step 6 –Transfer the chicken breasts to a plate.

Step 7 –In the same skillet over medium-high heat, add the remaining oil.

Step 8 –Add the mushrooms to the hot oil and cook, while tossing occasionally, until they are golden-brown, about 5 minutes.

Step 9 –Add the shallots, the garlic, the salt, and the pepper and cook until fragrant and translucent, about 2 minutes.

Step 10 –Add the chicken broth, the Marsala wine, and the chicken breasts with any accumulated juices to the skillet and simmer until the liquid is reduced by half, about 4 minutes.

Step 11 –Serve garnished with the parsley.
