Meat-Lovers Ring

For lovers of classic pizza meat toppings, here’s a dish that will satisfy your carnivorous cravings. The Meat-Lovers Ring stuffs buttery, flaky crescent rolls with a sausage-filled meat sauce, spicy pepperoni, succulent ham, and melty cheese; so, it’s just about everything you want in your favorite pizza. Grab some extra pizza sauce for dipping and this Meat-Lovers Ring becomes the dinner you can’t help but love!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces ground sweet Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup prepared pizza sauce, plus more, to taste, for serving
  • 2 (8-ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 ounces deli ham slices, cut in half
  • 16 slices pepperoni
  • 5 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese, cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • fresh parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 –Cook the sausage in a medium skillet over medium-high heat, while crumbling, until it’s browned in some spots and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes.

Step 3 –Transfer the sausage to a medium bowl and stir in 1/2 cup of the pizza sauce.

Step 4 –Let the mixture cool slightly, about 15 minutes.

Step 5 –Coat the back of a baking sheet with cooking spray.

Step 6 –Unroll both cans of the crescent roll dough and separate them into 16 triangles.

Step 7 –Put a 5-inch ramekin in the center of the prepared baking sheet and arrange the dough triangles in a ring around the ramekin so the short sides of the dough are touching the ramekin, overlapping slightly, and the pointed ends are facing outward.

Step 8 –Spoon the sausage mixture over the short ends of the triangles closest to the ramekin.

Step 9 –Cover the sausage mixture with the ham slices.

Step 10 –Top the ham with the pepperoni and then the cheese slices.

Step 11 –Remove the ramekin and fold the tips of the triangles over the filling, tucking the bottom edge of the dough under to secure.

Step 12 –Bake until the dough is golden-brown and the cheese is melted, about 25 minutes.

Step 13 –Brush the dough with the butter and sprinkle it with the Italian seasoning.

Step 14 –Let the ring cool for 15 minutes.

Step 15 –Serve with the extra pizza sauce, garnished with the fresh parsley.
