Ingredients

For the cracker mixture:

  • 10 ounces oyster crackers
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

For the topping:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Evenly spread the oyster crackers and the pecans onto a half sheet pan.

Step 3 –In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.

Step 4 –Mix 1 cup of the brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of the thyme, 1 teaspoon of the ginger, 1 teaspoon of the parsley, and 1/4 teaspoon of the cayenne pepper into the butter, bringing it to a boil, and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.

Step 5 –Pour the brown sugar mixture over the oyster crackers and stir until all the crackers are moistened.

Step 6 –Bake the crackers until they are lightly golden, about 10 minutes.

Step 7 –While the crackers are baking, in a bowl, combine the remaining brown sugar, the remaining thyme, the remaining ginger, the remaining parsley, the remaining cayenne pepper, and the salt together.

Step 8 –Sprinkle the topping mixture over the baked crackers and stir them together.

Step 9 –Let the crackers cool for 30 minutes.

Step 10 –Serve.
