Quick Steak Stir-Fry

There’s much to love about a good stir-fry. It’s quick. It’s easy. It’s full of SO much flavor. This Quick Steak Stir-Fry has all of that and then some. In fact, this one comes with some savory and delicious ramen for a hearty and fulfilling experience with every bite. Ingredients

For the stir-fry:

  • 3 (1-ounce) packages instant ramen
  • 8 cups water, boiling
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, divided
  • 3/4-pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced

Optional garnishes:

  • 2 tablespoons green onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

Step 1 –In a large bowl, add the ramen noodles. Discard the seasoning packets or save for another use.

Step 2 –Pour the boiling water over the ramen noodles and let sit, stirring occasionally, for 6 minutes.

Step 3 –Drain the ramen noodles and rinse with cold water.

Step 4 –In a small bowl, combine the garlic, the cornstarch, the sesame oil, the lime juice, and the soy sauce and stir to combine.

Step 5 –In a large, microwave-safe bowl, add the broccoli and microwave until soft, about 1 minute 30 seconds.

Step 6 –In a large, nonstick pan over high heat, add 1 teaspoon of the olive oil.

Step 7 –Add the steak slices and 2 tablespoons of the garlic mixture to the oil and cook until the meat reaches an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F, about 2 minutes.

Step 8 –Transfer the steak slices from the pan.

Step 9 –Heat 1 teaspoon of the oil in the same pan.

Step 10 –Add the onion to the oil and cook, stirring frequently, until browned, about 4 minutes.

Step 11 –Add the broccoli to the onion and cook until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.

Step 12 –Transfer the veggie mixture from the pan.

Step 13 –Add the remaining oil to the same pan.

Step 14 –Add the ramen noodles and the remaining garlic mixture to the oil and cook, while stirring constantly, until the noodles soak up the sauce.

Step 15 –Return the veggies and the steak slices to the pan and stir to combine.

Step 16 –Serve the stir-fry garnished with the green onions, the cilantro, and the sesame seeds.
