Ingredients
- 2 whole salmon filets, skin off
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- olive oil, to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- juice of 2 limes, plus more, to taste
- rice, to taste, cooked, for serving
- cilantro, to taste, for serving
Directions
Step 1 –Season the filets with the salt and the pepper.
Step 2 –In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, heat the oil.
Step 3 –Add the filets to the oil and cook, without flipping them and being careful not to burn them, about 5 minutes.
Step 4 –Carefully flip the filets and cook until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, about 2 minutes. Transfer the filets to a clean plate.
Step 5 –In the same skillet, add the butter, the honey, the soy sauce, and the lime juice and cook, while stirring, over medium heat, until the glaze thickens, about 2-4 minutes.
Step 6 –Add the filets to the glaze and spoon it over the tops.
Step 7 –In a bowl, stir the rice and the extra lime juice together.
Step 8 –Serve the salmon over the rice and sprinkle with the cilantro.
