Roll-Out-of-Bed Bake

Never fear, because this Roll-Out-of-Bed Bake allows you to simply whip up a great breakfast casserole without breaking a sweat. No long soaking times, no beating eggs, and nothing more strenuous than searing some savory sausage and mixing it with melty, sharp, creamy cheeses. Everything is baked up in flaky, buttery crescent roll dough, making Roll-Out-of-Bed Bake a combination of all the best parts of breakfast! Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package bulk pork sausage
  • 1/2 (8-ounce) package Neufchâtel cheese, softened
  • 1 (8-ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • salt, to taste
  • black pepper, freshly ground, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 –Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3 –Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 4 –Add the Neufchâtel cheese to the skillet. Cook and stir until melty and combined.

Step 5 –Transfer the skillet from the heat and set aside.

Step 6 –Unroll the crescent rolls and place 1/2 of the rolls into an 8×8-inch glass baking dish, pressing the seams together.

Step 7 –Top the crescent rolls with the sausage-Neufchâtel cheese mixture and sprinkle it with the cheddar cheese.

Step 8 –Top the dish with the remaining crescent rolls.

Step 9 –Season the top of the casserole with the salt and the pepper.

Step 10 –Bake the casserole until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.

Step 11 –Transfer the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Step 12 –Serve.
