Ingredients

  • 4 cups water, divided
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries, plus more, to taste, for garnish
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • ice, to taste, for serving
  • lemon wedges, to taste, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of the water, the sugar, and 2 cups of the blackberries and bring to a boil, while smashing the berries to release some of their juices, until the sugar dissolves, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 2 –Transfer the berry mixture from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.

Step 3 –Strain the berry mixture through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a large pitcher. Discard the seeds.

Step 4 –Stir the lemon juice and the remaining water into the berry mixture.

Step 5 –Place the lemonade in the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve.

Step 6 –Serve the lemonade over the ice, garnished with the lemon wedges and the extra blackberries.
