Ingredients
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –In a large bowl, add the peanut butter, the butter, the brown sugar, and the white sugar and beat using an electric mixer until light and creamy.
Step 3 –Gradually add the eggs and the vanilla into the peanut butter mixture and beat until combined.
Step 4 –In a separate bowl, add the flour, the baking powder, and the salt and whisk to combine.
Step 5 –Add the dry ingredient mixture to the peanut butter mixture, 1 cup at a time, beating after each addition.
Step 6 –Spread the batter in a 9×13-inch pan.
Step 7 –Bake the bars for 5 minutes.
Step 8 –While the bars are baking, in a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and microwave until melted, about 1 minute-1 minute 30 seconds.
Step 9 –Spoon the melted chocolate over the batter and use a knife to swirl it into the batter.
Step 10 –Bake until cooked through, about 30 minutes.
