Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the topping:

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • fresh fruit, of your choice, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Cream together the butter and the 3/4 cup of the sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth.

Step 3 –Add the egg.

Step 4 –In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5 –Add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture until just combined, careful not to overmix.

Step 6 –Press the dough into an ungreased pizza pan.

Step 7 –Bake the crust until golden, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 8 –Remove the crust from the oven.

Step 9 –While the pizza crust cools, beat the cream cheese, the 1/2 cup of the sugar, and the vanilla together in a large mixing bowl.

Step 10 –Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly onto the cooled crust.
