And if that isn’t enough, it gets bathed in the most amazing garlic butter sauce to make things feel a little fancy. Everyone always says that steak is the ultimate choice for a classy meal, but we really think the Best Garlic Butter Chicken could give it a run for its money!
Ingredients
For the chicken:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- fresh parsley, to taste, chopped, for garnish
For the garlic butter sauce:
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
Directions
Step 1 –In medium mixing bowl, add the olive oil, the dried thyme leaves, the garlic powder, the onion powder, the fine sea salt, and the ground black pepper and mix to combine.
Step 2 –Carefully butterfly the chicken breasts, then evenly coat them in the spice mixture.
Step 3 –Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 4 –Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and sear, without touching, about 4 minutes.
Step 5 –Flip the chicken breasts over and sear until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 3 minutes.
Step 6 –Reduce the heat to medium, then transfer the chicken breasts to a clean plate.
Step 7 –Add the chicken broth and the butter to the skillet and mix until the butter melts.
Step 8 –Add the minced garlic and the dried parsley to the butter mixture and sauté until aromatic, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 9 –Add the chicken breasts to the sauce and flip them to coat.
Step 10 –Transfer the chicken breasts to a platter and top with the remaining sauce.
Step 11 –Serve the chicken breasts garnished with the fresh chopped parsley.
