Black Bean Heaven Dip

If you like hearty, creamy, savory beans, then this is just your little piece of paradise! Black Bean Heaven Dip is creamy and tangy, with plenty of spice and cheese to keep you dipping again and again (just avoid double dipping)! Your taste buds will be warmed and charmed by this Tex-Mex inspired snack best served with crunchy tortilla chips! Mmm, you can feel the divine deliciousness emanating from Black Bean Heaven Dip before you even take your first bite!

For the dip:

  • 2 (15.5-ounce) cans black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 jalapeƱo, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 cup queso fresco, crumbled
  • 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Optional, for serving:

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 jalapeƱo, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup queso fresco, crumbled
  • cilantro, to taste, chopped
  • tortilla chips, to taste

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -In a food processor, add the black beans, the cream cheese, and the sour cream and pulse to combine.

Step 3 -Add 1 of the chopped jalapeƱos, the garlic cloves, the cumin, the chili powder, the lime juice, and 1/2 cup of the queso fresco to the black bean mixture in the blender and blend until smooth.

Step 4 -Transfer the dip to an oven-safe skillet.

Step 5 -Top the bean mixture with the pepper jack and the cheddar.

Step 6 -Bake until warmed through and the cheese is melty, about 15 minutes.

Step 7 -Top the dip with the tomatoes, the remaining jalapeƱos, the red onions, the remaining queso fresco, and the cilantro.

Step 8 -Serve with the chips.
