Blissful Baby Carrots

What makes these Blissful Baby Carrots so… blissful? There are so many reasons! First, it’s the texture! They’re so smooth and tender; they basically melt in your mouth as you’re enjoying them. And speaking of melting, they bring this yummy, buttery, brown-sugary sweetness that makes you feel like you want to melt into a pile of happiness with every bite. We could go on and on about the delightful Blissful Baby Carrots, but another great thing about them is they’re so, so easy to make. Ready in under 15 minutes (yep, that’s right!), you have the perfect side dish that pairs well with most anything… hey, that’s another bonus! You truly can’t go wrong with these little orange guys!

Ingredients

  • 1 (2-pound) bag baby carrots
  • water, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter, plus more, to taste, for serving
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, plus more, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt, plus more, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Place the carrots in a 2-quart saucepan.

Step 2 –Pour the water over the carrots until they are completely submerged, then cover the saucepan with a lid.

Step 3 –Bring the carrots to a boil over high heat and cook, about 6-7 minutes.

Step 4 –Drain 1/2 of the water from the saucepan.

Step 5 –Add 2 tablespoons of the butter, 1 tablespoon of the sugar, and 1 teaspoon of the salt to the carrots and stir until well-combined.

Step 6 –Cover the saucepan and cook until a fork easily pokes through the carrots with some firmness remaining, about 6-7 minutes.

Step 7 –Adjust the seasoning as desired with more of the brown sugar or more of the salt.

Step 8 –Top with the extra butter and serve.
