Cajun Shrimp

Your seafood dinner needs some jazzing up! Cajun Shrimp has bold bayou spices coating sweet and salty shrimp cooked in rich butter to a lovely pink! This is the kind of shrimp that makes shrimp cocktails envious! Once you serve up Cajun Shrimp with some dirty rice or with sauteed green peppers, you’ll really have the good times rolling!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon crushed chili pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

Step 1 –Add the shrimp to a large mixing bowl, and coat them with the olive oil.

Step 2 –Season with the salt and pepper.

Step 3 –Toss the shrimp with the Cajun seasoning.

Step 4 –Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat on the stovetop.

Step 5 –Add the shrimp.

Step 6 –Season the shrimp with the garlic, ginger, and crushed chili pepper flakes.

Step 7 –Cook until the shrimp turns pink and no gray remains, reaching an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 8 –Add the 2 tablespoons of water to help scrape the brown bits off the bottom of the skillet.

Step 9 –Coat the shrimp thoroughly in the sauce.

Step 10 –Taste for seasoning.

Step 11 –Serve.
