Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Chicken soup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups chicken, cooked and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Place the broccoli in a large pot of boiling water, and cook until just tender but still crisp on the outside, about 2-3 minutes. Make sure to drain the broccoli well.

Step 3 –Using a medium mixing bowl, add together the milk, 1 cup of the cheddar cheese, the sour cream, the condensed soup, garlic powder, onion powder, dry mustard, pepper, and salt.

Step 4 –Stir the broccoli and chicken into the soup mixture.

Step 5 –Spread the mixture into a 9×13-inch pan.

Step 6 –Sprinkle the top with the remaining cheese and the panko bread crumbs.

Step 7 –Bake the dish until the bread crumbs are lightly browned and the cheese is bubbly, about 18-20 minutes.

Step 8 –Serve over rice, noodles, or even mashed potatoes.
