Crack Slaw

There’s ordinary coleslaw, there’s good coleslaw, and then there’s Crack Slaw. Trust us, you’ll be craving it for a long time after you try it. The cabbage is tender and sweet, the flavors are bold and savory and spicy, and the ground beef is juicy and meaty. Honestly, Crack Slaw doesn’t feel like a side dish so much as a stir-fry dish you can eat as a side! Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef or ground chicken or ground turkey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seed oil
  • 6-7 cups coleslaw mix
  • 1-2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2-3 tablespoons green onions, chopped

Directions

Step 1 –In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the ground beef until cooked and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 2 –Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 3 –Push the ground beef to one side of the skillet and add the sesame oil to the opposite side.

Step 4 –Add the garlic to the hot oil and sauté until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 5 –Mix the garlic oil into the ground beef.

Step 6 –Add the coleslaw mix.

Step 7 –Drizzle on the sriracha, the vinegar, and the soy sauce.

Step 8 –Add the sugar, the salt, and the pepper.

Step 9 –Sauté until the cabbage is wilted, about 5 minutes.

Step 10 –Sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds and the green onions.
