Date Night Fondue

But sometimes staying at home feels right. Date Night Fondue brings just as much excitement, flavor, and fun. You’ll feel so elegant dunking your dipper of choice into this creamy, cheesy pool of delight. And your ambiance will be peaceful and quiet so you can really have some quality conversations with your favorite person. Ah, Date Night Fondue. Ingredients

For the fondue:

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 (12-ounce) can light lager beer
  • 1 pound equal parts fontina, Gruyere, and white cheddar cheese, grated
  • juice of 1/2 lemon, to taste
  • ground pepper, to taste
  • ground nutmeg, to taste

Optional for serving:

  • roasted vegetables
  • olives
  • bread or pretzel dippers

Directions

Step 1 –Smash the garlic clove and rub the inside of a medium saucepan with it vigorously. Then, dice it and add it to a saucepan.

Step 2 –Add the beer to the garlic and heat until almost boiling.

Step 3 –Add the cheese to the saucepan over medium-low heat and melt, stirring constantly.

Step 4 –Add the lemon juice to the cheese mixture and season it with the pepper and the nutmeg and cook until combined.

Step 5 –Transfer the cheese sauce from the stovetop.

Step 6 –Serve the fondue with the roasted vegetables, the olives, the bread, and the pretzel dippers.
