Ingredients
- 1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 tablespoon canola oil, plus more, to taste
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Directions
Step 1 -In a small bowl, combine the soup, the mustard, the Worcestershire sauce, and the horseradish.
Step 2 -In a separate bowl, lightly beat the egg.
Step 3 -Add the breadcrumbs, the onion, the salt, the pepper, and 1/4 cup of the soup mixture to the beaten egg.
Step 4 -Crumble the beef into the soup mixture and mix well.
Step 5 -Shape the beef mixture into six patties.
Step 6 -In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil over medium heat.
Step 7 -Place the patties in the hot oil and brown on both sides. If working in batches, add the extra oil to the pan before the next batch.
Step 8 -Drain the fat from the skillet.
Step 9 -Combine the remaining soup mixture with the water and pour it over the patties.
Step 10 -Cover and cook over low heat until the meat is no longer pink and a thermometer reads 160 degrees F in the center of each of the patties, about 10-15 minutes.
Step 11 -Transfer the patties to a plate.
Step 12 -Serve with the sauce and the parsley.
