Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground pork, chicken, or turkey
  • 1/4 pound shrimp, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy or fish sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ground white pepper, to taste
  • 1 pack wonton wrappers
  • water, to taste, for sealing
  • vegetable oil, to taste, for deep frying
  • soy sauce, optional, for serving
  • sweet and sour sauce, optional, for serving

Directions

Step 1 –Mix together the ground pork, shrimp, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper into a bowl, combining well.

Step 2 –Lay a piece of wonton paper on your palm.

Step 3 –Add 1/2 tablespoon of the filling in the middle of the wonton paper.

Step 4 –Dip your finger in the water and trace the edges of the wrapper.

Step 5 –Fold the wonton to make a triangle.

Step 6 –Pinch the edges to properly seal.

Step 7 –Heat the oil in a deep fryer.

Step 8 –Once the oil is heated, fry the wontons until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 9 –Remove the wontons from the oil and drain them on paper towels.

Step 10 –Serve with the soy sauce or sweet and sour sauce!
