Green Bean Oven Fries

Green Bean Oven Fries are a very delightful twist to your normal potato fries. They’re a little bit lighter, but just as flavorful and crispy, so we’re pretty certain you’ll love them just as much! Our biggest question is what should these Green Bean Oven Fries get dipped into?! That’s a mystery we’re still trying to solve ourselves, but the old go-to’s, ranch or ketchup will do just fine. But no matter what, we know you’re sure to thoroughly enjoy this refreshed take on a classic crispy side!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup store-bought fried onions, chopped into fine pieces
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 pound green beans, trimmed

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a sheet tray with parchment paper.

Step 3 –Place the flour in a medium bowl.

Step 4 –Whisk the milk and the eggs together in a second medium bowl.

Step 5 –Stir the chopped fried onions, the panko, the salt, and the pepper together in a third medium bowl.

Step 6 –Dip the green beans into the flour to coat, shaking off any excess.

Step 7 –Dip the green beans into the egg mixture to coat.

Step 8 –Dip the green beans in the panko mixture and place them on the prepared sheet tray, about 1/4-inch apart.

Step 9 –Bake the green beans, turning them halfway through, until they are golden and crispy, about 12-15 minutes.

Step 10 –Transfer the green bean fries to a platter and serve immediately.
