Why Can’t You Eat Sausages After One or Two Days After The Use-by Date?
Sausage can be bought from grocery stores and can also be made at home. There are various options of sausage from which you can select. Let it be bulk or packed into casings, you cannot store an opened pack of sausage for anywhere than 2 days.
You can store fresh sausage in its original packing in your fridge for about 2 to 3 days, but on the third day, there is a great chance that it might get spoiled. Since the sausage is made from meat, it cannot stay fresh after 2 days. Any kind of meat in any form does not stay fresh for more than 2 days if opened.
But, you can store unopened packed meat and sausage in your refrigerator for at least a month. You can store sliced sausage for at least a few weeks in your refrigerator. Dried, cured sausage can be stored more time too. If you keep the sausage in our original package, you can store them for more time too.
Fresh or pre-cooked sausage can at least be stored well in their original packaging, but restaurant-cooked or home-cooked sausage cannot be stored for more than 1 or 2 days. After meat or sausage goes stale, if eaten, it can lead to food poisoning or any sort of indigestion issues.
There are multiple ways to check whether your sausage has gone bad like the smell and its texture. You can use a sausage after its use-by date for only about two days before its usage can lead to health issues.
Store them in an air-tight container or zip-top bag so that bacteria or any sort of fungi doesn’t enter the container to spoil them.
