DHA used in spray tanning is safe to use as it is approved by the FDA for external and cosmetic use. It is a non-toxic and non-carcinogenic substance used for achieving the tan pigments onto the body. However, DHA is not been licensed not internal use, it should never be inhaled. Thus, when used with appropriate caution, spray tanning is certainly a better alternative to sunbathing to achieve shining tan skin without spending too many hours at the beach under the hot sun.
