Ingredients

  • 1 cup mochiko flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons dark chocolate, chopped

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.

Step 3 –In a medium bowl, add the mochiko flour, the cocoa powder, the granulated sugar, and the baking powder and whisk until evenly combined.

Step 4 –In a large bowl, add the melted butter, the eggs, the milk, and the vanilla extract and whisk until evenly combined and no egg streaks remain.

Step 5 –Add the mochiko flour mixture to the butter mixture and stir until evenly combined.

Step 6 –Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.

Step 7 –Sprinkle the chopped dark chocolate on the top of the batter.

Step 8 –Bake until set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean, about 60-70 minutes.

Step 9 –Transfer the baked brownies from the oven to a wire rack and let them cool.

Step 10 –When the brownies are completely cooled, with a sharp knife, cut into serving-sized pieces, plate, and serve.
