Ingredients
- 1 pound bulk pork sausage
- 2 cups biscuit/baking mix
- 1 1/3 cups 2% milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 2 medium apples, peeled, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar
- maple syrup, to taste, for serving
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 3 –In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sausage and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 4 –Drain the fat from the skillet.
Step 5 –In a bowl, add the biscuit mix, the milk, the eggs, and the canola oil and whisk until blended.
Step 6 –Add the sausage to the batter mixture and stir to combine.
Step 7 –Transfer the batter mixture to the prepared baking dish.
Step 8 –Top the batter evenly with the sliced apples and the cinnamon sugar.
Step 9 –Bake until it is set, about 30-45 minutes.
Step 10 –Serve the casserole with the syrup.
