Ingredients
- 5 pounds red potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter, diced
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
Step 3 –Place the potatoes in an even layer in the prepared casserole dish.
Step 4 –Sprinkle the onion and the bacon over the potatoes.
Step 5 –Dot the potatoes with the butter.
Step 6 –Season the potatoes with the salt and the pepper.
Step 7 –Cover the dish with foil.
Step 8 –Bake for 45 minutes.
Step 9 –Remove the foil and stir the potatoes.
Step 10 –Turn the oven to broil and allow the potatoes to brown until crispy, about 5 minutes.
Step 11 –Serve immediately.
