Oven-Fried Potatoes

Oven-Fried Potatoes might sound like an oxymoron, but trust us: this is one delicious potato preparation! The potatoes are sliced thin so they’re extra-tender and ready to support a coating of rich butter and crunchy, crisp, succulent bacon! They may not be french-fried but trust us, they are incredible for oven-made! Oven-Fried Potatoes are ready to get tonight started on the right foot!

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds red potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, diced
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.

Step 3 –Place the potatoes in an even layer in the prepared casserole dish.

Step 4 –Sprinkle the onion and the bacon over the potatoes.

Step 5 –Dot the potatoes with the butter.

Step 6 –Season the potatoes with the salt and the pepper.

Step 7 –Cover the dish with foil.

Step 8 –Bake for 45 minutes.

Step 9 –Remove the foil and stir the potatoes.

Step 10 –Turn the oven to broil and allow the potatoes to brown until crispy, about 5 minutes.

Step 11 –Serve immediately.
