Ingredients

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 4 (5-6-ounce) tilapia fillets
- kosher salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil, divided
Directions
Step 1 –Combine the flour, the garlic powder, the onion powder, the chili powder, and the cumin in a bowl.
Step 2 –Season the tilapia fillets with the salt and the pepper.
Step 3 –Place each fillet in the flour mixture and tap off any excess.
Step 4 –Heat a large skillet over medium heat on the stovetop.
Step 5 –Add 1 tablespoon of the oil.
Step 6 –Once the oil is hot, cook 2 of the fillets at a time until the exterior is a golden-brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
