Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 (6-ounce) cans refrigerated miniature biscuits or 1 (16-ounce) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef, red bell pepper, and onion and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.

Step 3 –Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 4 –Add the marinara and pepperoni to the skillet, stirring to combine.

Step 5 –Pour the mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 6 –Top the mixture with the mozzarella cheese.

Step 7 –Separate the dough.

Step 8 –Place the biscuits evenly on top of the cheese.

Step 9 –Bake until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through, for about 25-30 minutes. Check the casserole halfway through its baking time; if the biscuits are browning too quickly, cover the dish with foil and continue to bake until the end of its cooking time.

Step 10 –Serve hot.
