Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) can unsweetened pineapple chunks
  • 1 (14-ounce) package breakfast turkey sausage links, cut in half
  • 1 (8-ounce) can whole water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 large sweet red pepper, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2 –Drain the pineapple, reserving 1 tablespoon of the juice.

Step 3 –Thread the sausages, the water chestnuts, the pineapples, and the red peppers alternately onto 14 metal skewers or soaked wooden skewers.

Step 4 –In a small bowl, combine the honey, the soy sauce, the nutmeg, the pepper, and the reserved pineapple juice.

Step 5 –Grill the kabobs, uncovered, while basting them occasionally with the marinade, until the sausages are browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side.

Step 6 –Serve.
