Pork Schnitzel

Pork Schnitzel is a unique, delicious, and entirely underrated way to enjoy pork. Pork cutlets are dipped in egg and delectable breadcrumbs, and cooked in the skillet to golden perfection! Serve this meaty dish over homemade spaetzle or mashed potatoes for a yummy and satisfying dinner. This Pork Schnitzel is savory and hearty, and it only takes 45 minutes to make!

Ingredients

  • 10 pork cutlets
  • 1 teaspoon salt, plus more, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon pepper, plus more, to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • vegetable oil, to taste

Directions

Step 1 -With the flat-end of a tenderizer, pound out the pork starting from the center and moving out until the cutlets are about 1/4-inch-thick.

Step 2 -Season each of the cutlets evenly with 1 teaspoon of the salt and 1 teaspoon of the pepper.

Step 3 -In three shallow dishes, separately add the flour, the beaten eggs, and the breadcrumbs.

Step 4 -Season each of the dishes with the extra salt and the extra pepper.

Step 5 -Dip each of the cutlets in the flour, in the beaten egg, and in the breadcrumbs, turning to coat each side in each dish.

Step 6 -Place them on a large plate and repeat with the remaining cutlets.

Step 7 -Fill a large skillet with 1/2-inch of the oil, heating it over medium-high heat until it reaches 350 degrees F.

Step 8 -Fry each of the pork cutlets in batches for about 2-3 minutes on both sides or until they’re a deep, golden-brown.

Step 9 -Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and repeat with the remaining pork.
