Ultimate Cream Corn

Oh sure, you can get your creamed corn from a can, but why would you when a better dish is ready in just 15 minutes or less? Ultimate Cream Corn tastes better than any canned corn could hope for; creamy, rich, sweet, and cheesy all at once! Served warmed alongside just about any main dish, such as roasted turkey, Ultimate Cream Corn truly becomes the perfect side dish. The harvest season is about to taste better than ever!

Ingredients

  • 2 (10-ounce) packages frozen corn kernels, thawed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Directions

Step 1 –In a skillet over medium heat, add the corn, the heavy cream, the sugar, the butter, the salt, and the pepper and cook, while stirring occasionally, until the butter has melted, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 2 –In a small bowl, add the milk and the flour and whisk together until smooth.

Step 3 –Add the milk mixture to the corn mixture in the skillet and cook, while stirring constantly, until the sauce is thickened and the corn is cooked through, about 4 minutes.

Step 4 –Transfer the skillet from the heat.

Step 5 –Add the parmesan cheese to the corn mixture and stir until the cheese is melted.

Step 6 –Serve hot.
