  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, optional
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Use a paper towel to pat the salmon fillets dry.

Step 2 –Discard any remaining bones within the salmon fillets.

Step 3 –In a medium-liquid measuring cup, combine the oil, the soy sauce, the lemon juice, the honey, the brown sugar, the parsley, the garlic, the lemon zest, the salt, and the pepper.

Step 4 –Use a whisk to thoroughly combine the marinade.

Step 5 –In a large, resealable plastic bag, place the salmon fillets and the marinade.

Step 6 –Remove the excess air from the bag and place the sealed bag in a shallow dish.

Step 7 –Place the marinated salmon fillets in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes and up to 1 hour.

Step 8 –Preheat the grill to 400-450 degrees F or the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 9 –Bake the marinated salmon fillets in a greased, shallow baking dish until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, they are opaque, and they flake easily, about 12-15 minutes. If grilling, grease the grates and place the fillets skin-side down first and flip halfway through, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 10 –Allow the cooked salmon to rest for 5 minutes.

Step 11 –Serve.
