  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 slices whole-grain bread
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 6 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and cored, sliced
  • 8 strips bacon, cooked

Step 1 –Heat the butter in a large skillet over low heat.

Step 2 –Slather 4 slices of the bread with the Dijon mustard, then top each with the cheese, the apple slices, and the bacon.

Step 3 –Top the sandwiches with the remaining bread slices.

Step 4 –Add the sandwiches to the skillet, in batches, and slowly cook until each side is deeply browned and crunchy, about 5-6 minutes per side.

Step 5 –Serve.
