Camp Bread

Dear mom and dad, we miss you but don’t worry about us too much. We’re having a blast so far at summer camp. Our roommates are nice (they smell a little funny, though) and at night they teach us new card games, which has been fun. The counselors really have our days jammed packed with cool things to do. We always start our mornings off with a hike around the lake and end our days singing by the campfire and making s’mores. Yesterday’s afternoon activity was learning how to make the traditional Camp Bread.

Apparently, they’ve been making it since the camp opened 30 years ago (that’s so old!). It was really good! It was really fluffy and sort of tasted like that yummy, buttery cornbread mom makes, but with a little more seasoning and spices. Since it’s a camp tradition, they gave us the recipe, so we thought we’d share it with you, too (see it below!). Anyway, we can’t wait to be home. Maybe we can even share a piece of Camp Bread as we tell you all about the memories we’ve made this week. Sounds like fun to us. Love you and see you soon!
