Caramel Kiss Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 eggs, divided
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon baking powder, optional
  • 1 bag chocolate caramel candies, unwrapped

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.

Step 3 –In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and the sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Step 4 –Add 3 of the eggs, one at a time, to the butter mixer, mixing well after each addition.

Step 5 –Add the vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix; scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.

Step 6 –Slowly add the cocoa powder, the salt, the flour, and the baking powder to the batter until just combined.

Step 7 –Reserve 3/4 cup of the batter.

Step 8 –Evenly spread the remaining batter in the prepared pan.

Step 9 –Arrange the chocolate caramel candies on top of the batter.

Step 10 –In a bowl, mix the remaining batter with the remaining egg.

Step 11 –Pour the batter and egg mixture over the chocolates.

Step 12 –Bake until a fork inserted in the center comes out relatively clean, about 35 minutes.

Step 13 –Transfer from the oven and allow the brownies to cool completely.

Step 14 –Cut and serve.
