Everyone’s favorite side dish makes its debut as a hot and hearty meal in this delectable Chicken Tater Tot Casserole! Overflowing with melty cheese, creamy gravy, sage and onion stuffing, and crunchy tots, you will cherish every bite of this delightful casserole. Plus, it’s quite easy to whip up and makes for great leftovers.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken strips, skinless and boneless
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can of chicken gravy
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup sage and onion stuffing mix
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 (32 ounce) package frozen tater tots
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 –Prepare a 9×13-inch casserole dish by spraying it with olive oil cooking spray.
Step 3 –Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat it over medium heat.
Step 4 –Once the skillet is hot, cook the chicken strips until no longer pink, about 4 minutes on each side.
Step 5 –Once the chicken is no longer pink, remove the strips from the skillet and chop them into cubes.
Step 6 –Add the chicken to a large mixing bowl and combine with the chicken gravy, cream of chicken soup, evaporated milk, stuffing mix, onion, garlic, celery seed, and black pepper.
Step 7 –Evenly distribute the frozen tater tots in the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.
Step 8 –Pour the chicken mixture over the top of the tots.
Step 9 –Sprinkle with the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
Step 10 –Place in the oven and bake until bubbling, about 45 minutes.
Step 11 –Serve hot!
