Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and hot
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet baking bar, chopped

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and line it with parchment paper.

Step 3 –In a medium bowl, add the flour, the cocoa powder, and the salt and sift together until well-combined.

Step 4 –In a large bowl, add the hot melted butter, the vegetable oil, and the granulated sugar and whisk until well-combined.

Step 5 –Add the eggs and the vanilla extract to the butter mixture and whisk until very well-combined, about 1 minute.

Step 6 –Slowly add the cocoa mixture to the egg mixture and whisk together until just combined.

Step 7 –Evenly pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the chopped chocolate pieces.

Step 8 –Bake the brownies until the middle is no longer jiggly, about 28-32 minutes. Carefully give them a shake to confirm if they are jiggly, as a toothpick test would be deceiving considering the brownies are fudgy.

Step 9 –Transfer the brownies to a wire rack and let them cool.
