Ingredients
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed French onion soup, undiluted and divided
- 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 6 cups egg noodles, cooked and hot
- fresh parsley, optional, chopped
Directions
Step 1 –In a large bowl, combine the egg, 1/3 cup of the soup, the breadcrumbs, the salt, and the pepper.
Step 2 –Add the beef and mix gently.
Step 3 –Shape the beef mixture into six patties.
Step 4 –Brown the beef patties in a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side.
Step 5 –Transfer the beef patties to a plate and discard the drippings.
Step 6 –In the skillet, combine the flour and the water until smooth.
Step 7 –Add the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, the mustard, and the remaining soup, and bring the mixture to a boil.
Step 8 –Cook the boiling mixture while stirring for 2 minutes.
Step 9 –Return the patties to the skillet.
Step 10 –Cover and simmer the patties until the meat is no longer pink, about 15 minutes.
Step 11 –Serve the patties and the gravy over the noodles, garnished with the parsley.
