Lazy French Toast is what you’re looking for! Your favorite cinnamon rolls soak in a sweet, creamy, syrupy bath that will only enhance the flavor. Then, when it’s nice and warm, it’s smothered in melted vanilla icing to add another bright spot to your already delightful morning. So, keep your cozy slippers on and get ready to be full; Lazy French Toast is going to brighten your day!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 (12.4-ounce) can refrigerated cinnamon rolls, icing reserved
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 –Lightly spray an 8×8-inch baking pan.
Step 3 –Separate the cinnamon rolls and slice each roll into 8 pieces.
Step 4 –Set the icing container aside.
Step 5 –Melt the butter and pour it into the prepared baking dish.
Step 6 –Arrange the cinnamon roll pieces all over the butter layer.
Step 7 –In a small bowl, beat together the eggs, the heavy cream, the cinnamon, and the vanilla until well combined.
Step 8 –Pour the heavy cream mixture on top of the cinnamon roll pieces.
Step 9 –Drizzle the maple syrup over the heavy cream mixture.
Step 10 –Bake until the top of the cinnamon rolls is golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
Step 11 –Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 12 –Discard the metal lid from the icing container and warm the icing in the microwave until it’s thin enough to drizzle, about 5-10 seconds.
Step 13 –Pour the warmed icing all over the cinnamon rolls.
Step 14 –Serve.
