Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium white onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 large head romaine lettuce, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 cup grape tomatoes, sliced
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, sliced
- 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1/3 cup red onion, sliced
- 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
- 1 cup Thousand Island dressing
Directions
Step 1 -In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef, the white onions, and the garlic and cook, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease.
Step 2 -Add the barbecue sauce to the cooked beef and simmer, about 1 minute.
Step 3 -Transfer the skillet from the heat and let the beef mixture cool slightly.
Step 4 -In a large bowl, add lettuce and top with the grape tomatoes, the cheddar cheese, the bacon, the mushrooms, the red onions, the dill pickles, and the beef mixture.
Step 5 -Serve the salad drizzled with the dressing.
