Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Directions

Step 1 –Sift the flour, the baking powder, the sugar, and the salt together in a large bowl.

Step 2 –Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the milk, the melted butter, and the egg.

Step 3 –Whisk all the ingredients together until relatively smooth, but a few lumps are welcome! Don’t overmix the batter.

Step 4 –Lightly oil a griddle or a pan over medium-high heat.

Step 5 –Pour or scoop the batter onto the hot griddle, about 1/4 cup of the batter for each pancake.

Step 6 –Cook each pancake until golden-brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Wait until the middle begins to bubble and the edges appear dry and set before flipping the pancakes.

Step 7 –Repeat with the remaining batter.
