Patricia’s Favorite Pancake Bake

You can certainly taste that in each bite of this delicious dish; melty cheese and savory bacon contrasting with the fluffiness of pancakes and the smoky sweetness of maple syrup. Ingredients

  • 2 cups baking mix, such as Bisquickâ„¢
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 tablespoons maple syrup, plus more, to taste, for serving
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 12 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Step 3 –Combine the baking mix, 1 cup of the cheddar cheese, the milk, 5 tablespoons of the maple syrup, the eggs, and the sugar together in a bowl.

Step 4 –Pour the batter mixture into the prepared pan.

Step 5 –Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 20-25 minutes.

Step 6 –Sprinkle the bacon and the remaining cheddar cheese over the casserole.

Step 7 –Bake until the cheese has melted, about 5 minutes.

Step 8 –Serve topped with the extra maple syrup.
