Pizza Casserole

There will be an identical rush once the Pizza Casserole comes out hot from the oven, and this time there’s no waiting on the delivery driver! Everything you love about your favorite pie, from the mellow and sweet red sauce to the ooey-gooey mozzarella to the spicy pepperoni, all on a tender bed of pasta; no crusts on this pizza! Pizza Casserole even comes with crunchy green peppers, tangy olives, and savory beef, which is like all of the best toppings, all at once! Say goodbye to those greasy cardboard boxes, and say hello to some good home cooking!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces of pasta, of your choice
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound regular sausage
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 3-4 ounces pepperoni, cut in half
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, medium chopped
  • 1/2 cup olives, sliced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce or pizza sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 3 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 3 –Cook the pasta according to package directions for 1-2 minutes under al dente.

Step 4 –Drain the pasta.

Step 5 –In a skillet, brown the ground beef, sausage, and onion, for about 5-7 minutes.

Step 6 –Drain the grease from the skillet.

Step 7 –Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 8 –Transfer the cooked meat mixture to a large bowl.

Step 9 –Add the pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, marinara, oregano, and basil to the bowl.

Step 10 –Add the cooked noodles to the bowl, stirring to combine.

Step 11 –Add 2 cups of the shredded mozzarella, stirring to combine.

Step 12 –Season the mixture with salt and pepper.

Step 13 –Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Step 14 –Sprinkle the casserole with the remaining cheese.

Step 15 –Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 16 –Remove the foil and bake until the cheese is bubbling, for about 15 minutes.

Step 17 –Serve hot.
