Uncle Speedy’s Beer Pork Chops

That’s why he perfected his self-titled main course, Uncle Speedy’s Beer Pork Chops. Every time he made it, he ensured the browned, hearty pork loin chops were generously seasoned and filled with flavor thanks to his genius concoction of tangy ketchup, sweet brown sugar, and his favorite kind of beer. He also made sure it was quick and easy so he could feed the bellies of those he loved rather, well, speedily. So, here’s to our dear uncle! Ingredients

  • 4 (4-ounce) pork loin chops, boneless
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup beer or nonalcoholic beer

Directions

Step 1 –Sprinkle the pork chops with salt and pepper.

Step 2 –In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.

Step 3 –Add the pork chops to the skillet and brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes each.

Step 4 –In a bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and beer.

Step 5 –Pour the beer mixture over the pork chops in the skillet.

Step 6 –Bring the pork chop mixture to a boil.

Step 7 –Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, until an instant thermometer inserted into the center of the pork reads 145 degrees F, about 4-6 minutes.

Step 8 –Let the pork chops stand for 5 minutes.
