Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice, red wine vinegar, or balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped into small chunks
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 pounds flank steak

Directions

Step 1 –Add the soy sauce, olive oil, honey, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, chopped onion, garlic, green onions, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt in a mixing bowl, whisking together until thoroughly combined.

Step 2 –Pierce the flank steak with a fork all over. This helps tenderize it.

Step 3 –Place the flank steak in the bowl, turning it several times in the marinade to coat it.

Step 4 –Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.

Step 5 –Place the bowl in the fridge and let the steak marinate for at least 2 hours and up to 24 hours.

Step 6 –Remove the steak from the fridge 30 minutes before grilling.

Step 7 –Take the steak out of the marinade, removing any excess moisture with paper towels. Discard the marinade.

Step 8 –Spray the grill grates with cooking oil spray.

Step 9 –Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

Step 10 –Place the steaks on the grill once the grill is hot.

Step 11 –Grill until seared, about 1 minute per side.

Step 12 –Continue cooking until the steak reaches desired doneness, starting at 135 degrees F for medium-rare, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Step 13 –Transfer the steak to a cutting board and cover it with aluminum foil.

Step 14 –Let the steak rest for 5 minutes.

Step 15 –Slice the steak thinly against the grain.

Step 16 –Serve.
