Chopped Steak has the tenderness and richness of a burger with the depth of savory flavor of a steak. Grilled to perfection, Chopped Steak is old-fashioned cooking ready for a new-fashioned day! Ingredients

For the chopped steak:

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1/2 large white onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup unsalted saltine crackers, finely crushed

Optional, for serving:

  • fries, to taste, cooked and warm
  • lettuce, to taste
  • tomatoes, to taste, wedged

Directions

Step 1 –In a large bowl, add the ground beef and crumble it into small pieces.

Step 2 –Add the salt, the black pepper, the garlic powder, the rosemary, the ground mustard, the paprika, and the dill weed to the beef and knead thoroughly.

Step 3 –Add the onion, the egg, and the Worcestershire sauce and knead it into the beef mixture.

Step 4 –Add the crackers to the beef mixture and mix until thoroughly incorporated.

Step 5 –Shape the beef mixture into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.

Step 6 –Preheat a grill pan over medium heat.

Step 7 –Add the patties to the grill pan and cook until the center reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 5-7 minutes per side.

Step 8 –Serve with the fries, the lettuce, and the tomatoes.
