Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, cubed
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup 2% milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup brickle toffee bits
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- vanilla ice cream, optional, to taste, for serving
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 –Place the butter in a 13×9-inch baking pan.
Step 3 –Place the baking pan in the oven and warm until the butter has melted, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 4 –In a bowl, add the flour, the sugar, the baking powder, and the salt and stir to combine.
Step 5 –Stir the milk and the vanilla into the flour mixture until combined.
Step 6 –Transfer the baking pan from the oven and pour the batter over the melted butter.
Step 7 –Sprinkle the pecans, the brown sugar, and the toffee bits over the batter.
Step 8 –Slowly pour the boiling water over the top of the cobbler. Do not stir.
Step 9 –Bake the cobbler until it is golden-brown, about 30-35 minutes.
Step 10 –Let the cobbler cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes. It will thicken upon cooling.
Step 11 –Serve the cobbler warm with the ice cream.
