Ingredients
For the turkey bake:
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 1 (8-ounce) carton mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (10.5-ounce) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 1/3 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 cup havarti cheese, shredded, divided
- 3 cups leftover turkey breast, shredded
- 3 cups penne pasta, cooked
For the topping:
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- fresh parsley, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 3 –In a skillet over medium heat, add 3 tablespoons of the butter, the onions, the mushrooms, and the garlic and cook until they are tender, about 5 minutes.
Step 4 –In a large bowl, add the cream of chicken soup, the mushroom mixture, the milk, the seasoned salt, the dried basil, and 1/2 cup of the cheese and stir to combine.
Step 5 –Fold the turkey and the pasta into the mushroom mixture.
Step 6 –In a small bowl, add the remaining melted butter and the breadcrumbs and stir to combine.
Step 7 –Spread the turkey mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the remaining cheese and the coated breadcrumbs.
Step 8 –Bake the turkey bake until it is hot and bubbly, about 30-35 minutes.
Step 9 –Garnish the turkey bake with the fresh parsley and serve.
