Ingredients

  • 1 (2-pound) whole salmon, skin-on
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.

Step 3 –Place the salmon, skin-side down, on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 4 –Crimp the edges of the foil around the salmon to make what appears like a boat to catch the juices when baking.

Step 5 –In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and the minced garlic.

Step 6 –Brush 1/2 of the garlic-butter over the salmon.

Step 7 –In another small bowl, combine the brown sugar, the Italian seasoning, the paprika, the garlic powder, and the salt.

Step 8 –Evenly sprinkle the spice mixture over the salmon.

Step 9 –Drizzle the coated salmon with the remaining garlic-butter.

Step 10 –Bake the coated salmon until it reaches your preferred doneness, between 125-145 degrees F, about 15-22 minutes. If desired, carefully baste the salmon with the juices halfway through baking.

Step 11 –Allow the cooked salmon to rest for 5 minutes after baking.

Step 12 –Serve.
